Monica Torres, Founder and CEO
Dr. Monica Torres is the founder and CEO of SocialQuest, Inc. a passionate spokesperson for the importance of understanding cultural dynamics in designing and implementing market research. Dr. Torres holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis on research methods from Boston University. She served as a post-doctoral fellow and instructor at Harvard Medical School where she focused her research and practice on ethnic minorities, children and cultural diversity. She has consulted for almost two decades, currently in the private sector but initially with the government and not-for-profits. While designing and implementing social marketing campaigns for reproductive health and substance abuse during her years in the public arena, she developed her theories of ethnic acculturation and multicultural lifestyle segments. Dr. Torres has since combined these theories with traditional clinical psychology practices to pioneer proprietary quantitative models and state-of-the-art marketing research methods that yield groundbreaking insights on the impact of cultural dynamics in the consumer market. Her successful approach is apparent in SocialQuest’s clients, both Fortune 500 and small corporations: Kroger, AT&T, AAA, Sonic, Ingles Sin Barreras, JP Morgan Chase, Telemundo and Western Union.
